On 23/03/2018, visits were conducted by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority to ITU, Boğaziçi, and Medipol Universities in Istanbul to hold discussions on 5G and Beyond technologies. A delegation consisting of Institution Deputy President Rıdvan Kahveci, Technical Regulations Department Head Ramazan Yılmaz, and experts visited Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Karaçuha, Director of the Informatics Institute at Istanbul Technical University, and obtained information about the İTÜcell project. Additionally, within the scope of the same visit, meetings were held with the stakeholders of the İTÜcell project, I2I, TTG, and Orkide Bilişim, and views were exchanged on the 5GTR Forum and other related activities.
The delegation also visited the Telecommunications and Informatics Technologies Application and Research Center (TETAM) at Boğaziçi University. The delegation, which examined the system room, Makers’ Lab, and Smart Home applications laboratory there, engaged in mutual discussions with Prof. Dr. Tuna Tuğcu, a member of the TETAM Board of Directors, Asst. Prof. Dr. Atay Özgövde from Galatasaray University, and other academics and students.
Finally, the delegation visiting Medipol University met with Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kemal Özdemir, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tunçer Baykaş, and other relevant academics, and inspected the 6G laboratory and other laboratories.
