With the start of our country's Associate Membership to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in May 2015, it has been notified to our Institution that industrial firms producing in Turkey have gained the right to participate in procurements and tenders conducted at CERN, and the TOBB-CERN Industry Liaison Office has been established under TOBB to ensure information flow and communication between CERN and firms in member countries, to inform Turkish industrialists about tenders, and to facilitate their participation, and has commenced its activities.
Information on works at CERN, knowledge and technology transfer, procurements, tenders, and the TOBB-CERN Industry Liaison Office can be accessed from www.tobb.org.tr/cern, and it has also been stated that various events have begun to be organized to increase our industry's awareness of advanced technology products related to CERN following our country's associate membership to CERN.
As one of these events, the CERN Knowledge Transfer Office based in Switzerland plans to establish contact with technology transfer offices in our country, and in this context, the “CERN-Turkey Technology Transfer Offices Summit” will be held on May 30-31, 2016, at Istanbul Bilgi University Santral Istanbul campus in collaboration with the TOBB-CERN Industry Liaison Office, TOBB University of Economics and Technology, and the High Energy Physics Application and Research Center of Istanbul Bilgi University.
