In the technical examinations conducted by our Institution regarding applications made by declaring IMEI in the IMEI-1 and IMEI-2 fields through the IMEI Registration service offered via e-Devlet, it has been determined that in some applications, the declared first and second IMEI numbers do not belong to the same mobile phone. Accordingly, in such registration processes, while the first IMEI number is left open (registered) for communication services, the second IMEI number, determined to belong to another mobile phone, is taken out of registration and will be kept open for communication services for one hundred twenty (120) days before being closed. Information regarding the matter is provided below:
- To check whether the IMEI number of your mobile phone has been closed to communication services, dial *#06# and query the IMEI numbers displayed on the screen via the IMEI Inquiry service. If the phrase indicating that the IMEI number is registered appears in the "Status" section of the query, disregard the message sent to you.
- It is possible to change the IMEI number left open for communication, limited to the other IMEI number subject to the registration process, and you can apply for this via the IMEI Usage Preference Notification service. As a result of this application, the preferred IMEI number will be left open for communication, while the non-preferred other IMEI will remain in closed communication status.
- Since the IMEI numbers detected to belong to a different mobile phone in the same registration process have been taken out of registration, if the conditions are met, a separate application must be made via the IMEI Registration service in accordance with the procedures and principles stipulated in the relevant legislation.
- If it is requested that the second IMEI number of the mobile phone for which IMEI registration is requested be recorded, upon application to our Institution, the other IMEI number can be recorded - provided that the IMEI numbers belong to the same mobile phone.
- In applications made within this scope, the following information and documents must be provided:
- A wet-signed petition from the applicant explaining the matter, attached with a copy of the deposit slip for the usage permit fee,
- A letter that can be obtained from the manufacturer/importer stating that the registered and unregistered other IMEI numbers are on the same phone, or screenshots proving that these numbers are on the same phone attached to the petition,
- By presenting copies of identity documents and entry documents to Turkey along with the petition, ensuring that the holder of the entry document used in the phone's registration process (passenger) is the same person as the e-Devlet user or the person applying to the Subscriber Registration Center.
Following the examination of the listed information and documents, technical checks and administrative evaluation, the other IMEI number on the phone can be recorded.
These processes conducted by our Institution aim to ensure the accuracy of registrations, prevent potential public harm, ensure compliance with legislation, and provide electronic communication services in a healthy manner, and examinations and controls regarding the matter will continue to be carried out.
It is important for our citizens to carefully check IMEI information during application processes to prevent possible confusions.
It is respectfully announced to the public.
