The 2nd Meeting of the 5GTR Forum Physical Network Working Group, which focuses on technological areas such as RF-related studies and hardware aspects, base station production, development of multi-input multi-output based antenna technologies supporting high speeds, and new waveforms supporting millimeter wave technology, was held on November 30, 2017, at the Information Technologies and Communication Authority Ankara Central Building.
Within the scope of the 5GTR Forum activities, approximately 200 participants from our universities, academics, relevant public institutions, operators, civil society organizations, producers, and suppliers came together at the full-day “5GTR Forum Meeting and Working Groups Workshop” held on November 14, 2017, at the Information Technologies and Communication Authority. In the afternoon sessions, in line with the 5GTR Forum's goal of producing domestic and national, high value-added next-generation mobile communication products, services, and technologies, the Core Network Working Group, Physical Network Working Group, Service and Application Working Group, and Standardization Working Group gathered in four separate halls to begin their work, enabling efficient progress in a short time through national and international collaborations.
The 2nd Meeting of the 5GTR Forum Physical Network Working Group, which focuses on technological areas such as RF-related studies and hardware aspects, base station production, development of multi-input multi-output based antenna technologies supporting high speeds, and new waveforms supporting millimeter wave technology, was held on November 30, 2017, at the Information Technologies and Communication Authority Ankara Central Building, with participation also provided via video conference from the Istanbul Regional Directorate Building.
In the meeting, in addition to addressing 3GPP's 5G roadmap and working groups, information notes prepared by Working Group Members on 5G network architecture forecasts, as well as the works and current status of operators, universities, and industry in the 5G field, were shared with participants. Discussions were held regarding the roadmap of the 5GTR Forum Physical Network Working Group and possible projects that could be implemented.
