At the 4th Global 5G Event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the 5GTR Forum and Japan's Fifth Generation Mobile Communication Promotion Forum (5GMF) by BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan.
The Global 5G Event, organized by the world's major 5G platforms, was held in Seoul, South Korea, from November 21-24, 2017.
As is known, with the aim of becoming a leader in 5G and beyond technologies, the "Next Generation Mobile Communication Technologies Turkey Forum (5GTR Forum)" was established on April 29, 2016, under the leadership of our Institution to ensure collaboration among public institutions, universities, manufacturers, operators, and relevant civil society organizations in our country, as well as coordination of all efforts.
Consultations are ongoing regarding the working procedures and principles of the 5GTR Forum and the structure of its working groups. There are similar platforms in other prominent countries and regions worldwide that bring together industry, public sector, and other stakeholders on 5G. In this direction, a memorandum of understanding with Japan's "Fifth Generation Mobile Communication Promotion Forum-5GMF," one of the most ambitious countries in 5G, was signed by BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan on November 23, 2017.
Through this memorandum of understanding, the aim is to strengthen relations between the 5GTR Forum, our country's 5G and beyond collaboration platform, within the framework of international cooperation efforts on 5G and beyond.
Additionally, it is expected that this collaboration will be beneficial for the development of 5G and beyond studies conducted in our country and thus pave the way for cooperation between universities, operators, and manufacturers in both countries.
